APPLE, Linux & iCOZ
(for English see translation below)
Virtualisatie, vanuit Mac OS Windows toepassingen starten
Parralles Desktop via surfspot,
- bij 'Time' de optie 'Sync from OS X' kiezen,
VMware Fusion
WineBottler,
- Dan de icozcitg.exe -> open with ... "wine".
Linux

APPLE, Linux & iCOZ
The
iCOZ is a windows-application which does
NOT run on the OS of Apple computers. In order to use iCOZ on Apple computers you need windows on the Mac.
For this a few options can be used which will be given below. Students have reported with succes the use of these solutions, however we can not give you support for Apple-related problems.
The TU-Delft uses Windows as the platform for education.
Dual Boot, most robust solution for an Apple
Install apart from the Mac OS also the Windows OS on your Mac in a so-called Dual-boot setting.During the machine boot you can opt for windows or Mac OS.
You turn your Mac into a Windows machine but can not use Apple OS then at the same time. You will need a Boot Camp programme which is already installed on the MAc.
Next you also need a valid Windows license. For this you can use
surfspot. Use your TU-Delft login with netid and password.
Virtualisation, start Windows Applications from Mac OS
An other solution is to emulate windows on the Mac OS. All windows-software can run while the Mac OS is up and running.
For this also a valid windows license is required, available via
surfspot.
Virtualisation is possible in different ways depending on your budget:
Parralles Desktop via surfspot,
Parallels works very well but pay attention to the clock settings:
- open Control Center within Parallels, go to settings.
- on the tab Options in the left part move to 'Advanced'.
- select at 'Time' the option 'Sync from OS X',
VMware Fusion
WineBottler,
Recent experiences reported by students:
- if you open the .dmg file then make sure that "wine" and "winebottler" are moved into the applications.
- then continue with icozcitg.exe -> open with ... "wine".
Linux
You can also use the described solutions for Linux. Succesful use of iCOZ with
Wine has been reported by students who run Ubuntu.
Do not e-mail your problems related to Mac or Linux to the teacher. Mac is not in use and although experienced Ubuntu user I do not run iCOZ on Ubuntu.
