SIMPLE MEMBRANE
for specific given boundaries

With a simple finite element method program the exact location of a membrane can be obtained. The boundaries are prescribed after which the program computes the values of the membrane at the field points with an incremental iterative procedure. This field is modelled with triangular elements.

You can view the 3D model in your browser with a VRML plugin.Internet Explorer IE 11 is required:

Get Cosmo Player VRML plugin Click on the logo to download the Cosmo Player VRML plugin (for old windows system).

Download here (3,5 Mb ) the vlies program including some sample input files. In case the download is blocked just trust the file and install the program. Make sure that the binary file vlies.exe in the program folder has administrator rights. You can change this with the right mouse button on the file in the file browser. The default program folder is C:\Program Files(x86)\W-IT\vlies.

The 3D *.wrl output files can also be opened in 3D programes such as FreeWRL or MeshLab2020. With the program MeshLab2020 you can import the *.wrl file and save this in any other format such as e.g. *.ply. These files can then be used in other apps such as Microsoft 3D-Viewer.
